Our new recycled PLA 3D850 filament is yet another step toward creating more sustainable 3D printing and reducing its environmental impact.

Recycled PLA 3D850 is made from a mixture of PLA scraps as well as residual waste accumulated during the manufacturing process of our popular TRUE FOOD SAFE PLA while ensuring that original material properties are not compromised.; so it prints and feels just like our original True Food Safe PLA filament!

The main differentiating features of the 3D850 grade are:

  • Fast crystallization and higher flow rate for faster printing with less distortion 
  • Higher Rigidity
  • Annealable for high heat resistance

Because we use a variety of random PLA colors in the recycling mixture, each spool will have a slightly different color shade. Most spools result in dark shades of Grey/Green/Purple/Brown/Blue or similar.

Our Recycled PLA is a great choice for those who are looking for a low cost, high quality and a more environmentally sustainable material solution for everyday printing and prototyping.

Rest assured that this filament is manufactured to the same high quality standards as our non-recycled PLA version. Material properties, consistency, tolerances and tests are all monitored and verified as with any of our standard products.

  • PLA should be printed with a heated print bed set to 55°C - 60°C
  • A good quality glue stick should be used for proper bed adhesion on most bed surfaces.
  • If excessive stringing occurs, the materials may need to be dried in a dehydrator.
  • First layer nozzle temperature usually 5°C-10°C higher than subsequent layers.
