ColorFabb Canada 3D Printer Filament

colorFabb has teamed up with Eastman Chemical Company to develop co-polyester based materials for FFF/FDM 3D printing. Now you can fulfill your vision with 3D creations that exhibit sparkling clarity and gloss and superior toughness. With superior melt strength and dimensional stability, Amphora delivers advanced bridging capabilities to create stronger and more detailed items—with low odor and low emissions.

Eastman Amphora™ 3D polymer is a low-odorstyrene-free choice that is uniquely suited for 3D printing applications. With Amphora, items can be created that are more functional, more durable, more efficient, and attractive.

nGen is made with Amphora AM3300 and has good flow properties through the printer nozzle - even at lower temperatures than some other polymers require. These properties make nGen more workable at a wider breadth of temperatures, producing reliable results and resulting in less waste. nGen exhibits advanced overhang ability, excellent looks, and large printing temperature range—empowering large panel of users to create durable and useful items. Learn more about nGen on our special dedicated landing page.

With nGen we bring a filament to the market that has functional properties, looks astonishingly good and prints like a dream. With a glass temperature of over 85ºC it has over double the heat resistance of PLA.

nGen is a true all-round material suitable for most day to day 3D printing activities. At the core of its reliability is the special chemical make-up of the Eastman Amphora™ AM3300 3D polymer, which results in a good melt stability. From pellet to filament to 3D print, nGen retains its material properties very well, meaning more stable results with less waste of time and material.

nGen is a high quality filament made from Eastman Amphora™ AM3300 3D polymer, it exhibits advanced overhang ability, excellent looks, and large printing temperature range—empowering large panel of users to create durable and useful items. With the unique combination of a low processing temperature and an elevated temperature resistance (85C), nGen can quickly print creations that are functional, durable, efficient, and attractive.

Hydrolitical stability

One of nGen truly unique features is its melt stability, meaning from pellet to filament to 3D Printed part, the mechanical properties of the material will hardly be affected. This provides a great deal of printing stability and the ability to reproduce the same quality parts over and over again, reducing failed prints rates.

In-house production
All colorFabb 3d printing filaments are produced in our own production facility, situated in the Netherlands. Since no external parties are involved in the making of colorFabb filament we can ensure consistent quality on every order.

Excellent diameter tolerance
An important machine in our production are the laser measurement systems used to check the diameter of our filament real time during production. It’s measured over 1000 times per second and helps us guarantee that each spool of colorFabb 3d printing filament produced within tolerance. We can guarantee 0,05mm +/- on both 2,85mm and 1,75mm colorFabb 3d printing filament, which means you can rest assured that your printer is extruding the exact amount of material.

Packaging
Within minutes of production a spool of colorFabb 3d printing filament is sealed airtight with a double barrier foil. To go the extra mile, we’ll also seal the fancy cardboard box that we use to ship our product. You can make sure colorFabb 3d printing filament is fresh and ready for 3d printing when you’re done unboxing.

In-house testing
The colorFabb testlab features a wide range of popular 3d printers. We’re continuously testing on our 3d printers to keep checking the quality of the materials we produce and to develop exciting new materials for the maker community. If your not sure how to print with our materials on your 3d printer, please contact support@colorfabb.com

Material science
ColorFabb was founded as a brand of Helian Polymers, a sister company of Peter Holland which have been active in the master batch and additives for the plastics processing industry. Our knowhow, network and partnerships is driving material innovations and quality. You can expect colorFabb to keep on developing interesting new materials, which will be tested on a variety of printers to make sure it’ll get the job done.

Notes:

220°C - 240°C
  • Adviced 3d print speed: 40 - 70 mm/s

  • Advised Heated bed: 75-85C

  • Build platform
Gen gives best results on a heated build platform, 75C to about 85C is usually needed for proper adhesion to a glass plate. Printing on a cold bed is possible but you’ll need some adhesion tools to minimize warping. 3DLac, buildTak or 3DEeze can do the trick.
